Print, Tuft and Fold

Print, Tuft and Fold are three Textile Designers, they are Claire J Alderdice, Zoe Beck and Kim Bassett, they come together throughout the year to exhibit their work as a collaborative event.  Enabling people to see just how diverse Textiles can be, all three create interior products but all take a very different approach.

Zoe Beck - PRINT
Zoe is a Textile Designer/Artist specialising in printed textiles using computer Aided Design to create Art and Design for home and commercial space.

Zoe is fascinated with the cultural differences across our world's cities and is intrigued by how travelling contributes so much to our personal happiness. Her concepts are based on the dream we all have during our busy day to day lives of 'getting away from it all'. The main aim for Zoe in her work is that it has the essence of the place that it is based on, she wants to achieve a visual exploration of why we visit these places and what makes them so special.

She creates bespoke textile art and design based on personal travel experiences. Her commission service creates textiles from your own experiences, taking your memories of favourite places and displaying them in your home or commercial space. Zoe also has a collection of limited edition prints and cushions based on London, New York, Paris and Marrakech.

Claire J Alderdice - TUFT
Claire is a Textile Artist and Surface Pattern Designer specialising in Computer Aided Design and digital print to create interactive interior spaces.

Claire completed her MA in Textile Design at The Chelsea College of Art and Design in December 2005, it was while on the MA that she begun exploring the theory behind naturally occurring rhythm in growth patterns.  She explores the idea of order and chaos, fractured imagery and non repeating pattern.  Claire has developed an "exhaust - designing " method, utilising the kaleidoscope to create infinite pattern. Claire is particularly interested in the accidental outcomes that occur through the kaleidoscope, including the hidden imagery and creating optical effects.

Claire's style is fun and funky and she loves to use daring colour palettes to add a touch of flamboyance to any space.  She is dedicated to producing sustainable designs that retain a personal touch, including One Wall Wonder Wallpaper, Eye-Smacking Bespoke Rugs, Whimsical Canvas Prints and digital movie projections for domestic & commercial use.

Kim Bassett - FOLD
Kim  is a Textile Designer specialising in products for both fashion and interiors.  Working very conceptually Kim uses both hand drawn methods and digital printing to create her unusual Textiles. She then uses Origami folding techniques to give her Textiles a sense of three dimension.  Her  conceptual textiles tell a story, a "memory book", allowing the reader to feel and touch their way through the fabric pages.  The fabric retains the memory of the folds and displays the images and illustrations without a definite beginning or end.

Kim's latest textile collection consists of structured cushions inspired by the traditional Peranakan carved chairs found in Singapore and Malaysia.
